An old pitcher with red stamped pottery mark 'Austria':- I received this from my grandmother over the weekend. She believes it was my great grandmother from the other side of the family. There is a number on the bottom but I cannot make it out.
I am hoping to find out a little more information about it. Is it valuable? When is it from? Etc...
As you can see from the pictures, it has turned yellow from age. The gold is still good. There is a tiny little chip around the rim.

I am sure this pitcher jug is from late 19th Century Austria, but which studio is not known - other than possibly by a tiny group of specialist collectors. Let's hope one of them reads this and lends a hand.
19th Century Austrian ceramics (or at least, Bohemia - a region within that empire at the time) can be fantastically valuable and collectible if is part of the design led 'Aesthetics Movement' of the Bohemian period. Yours is not part of that genre, and with the damage the value would be modest, but we don't cover valuations here on the public forum, you would have to go to Peter's
