Antique Bone China Query About a Colclough Cake stand: I have been given a three tier cake plate that has the top tier missing. The writing on the back of the plate is Bone China B2 Colclough Made in England A product of Ridgway Potteries Ltd. Would I be able to replace the top tier? Does that description tell what the pattern on the plates is?

Dear Faye
Many thanks for your interesting Colclough Cake stand query. The short answer is no to both questions. You can get a wonderful 3 tier bone china Colclough cake stand replacement for around the £30 price.
When I just looked there was an Amoretta pattern 3 tier bone china Colclough cake stand for £30 'buy it now price' (this was on the UK eBay site not the South African). This was the only Colclough cake stand I could find - but beware it did not show up when I put in the search term "3 tier Colclough cake stand" only when I put in "colclough three tier cake stand".
For more on the subject of how to find china replacements on deep level searches go here:
China ReplacementsOn this page you can access instructions on how to find china replacements. If you follow the link to the site http://www.replacements.com/ you can browse the Colclough patterns section to identify your pattern. There are some "B" patterns listed but not B2. There is B675, B725, B777 and B863. The Replacements Ltd website catalogue is simply the best online resource for identifying china patterns. Be sure to use the left hand side blue bar image summary link though (many 'people don't 'see' it even though it is there in plain view). If they don't list the pattern it is most likely almost impossible to find online. However, even this great site has some funny quirks. For example, they do not list the famous Colclough Amoretta pattern as "Amoretta", they list it as "Clc13 ".
Happy hunting
Hope this helps
