Antique China And Fine China Query - Old Capodimonte Figurines?
Antique China And Fine China Query - Old Capodimonte Figurines? Looking for more information on these two gorgeous figurines:- I inherited these two figurines from my 91 yr old aunt... I have seen them for over 50 years in her home. I was told they were Capodimonte... but know nothing more about them. When and where were they made? what is the approx value of them... can anyone help me? thanks,
Gayle Perszon
PS. I have included one picture of the more ornate one, but there is a second matching one whose dress is the same design, but a completely different figurine.

Dear Gayle
Your query pricked my interest immediately. These figurines are very close to home for me.
Thank you so much for uploading the photograph of this beautiful sculpture.
From a professional perspective, I can only sit back and admire the artwork. To my eye it is stunningly skilled - grace, movement, fluidity, accuracy, fabric flow, fingers, beautifully proportioned etc etc. It may seem not so 'wow' to the untrained eye who see figurines as just dust-catching objects, but to me the artist has undoubted skill over and above the average.
To help you research I need clear (unblurred) photos of all base pottery marks. Some people find scanning with a normal scanner gives the best results. Use as many submission forms as you like. The system allows only one photo to be uploaded at a time - but I'll get them all no problem. Send a pic of your other figurine as well if you can.
Look forward to hearing back from you.
Meantime here are some general online researching tips:
