Hi James
The area of porcelain & china antique soldiers is something of a specialist area which I have little knowledge of.
From what I can gather, the better known makers are mainly Germanic:-
- Kister, blue S with cross marks (different to yours)
- Wilhelm Schiller & Sons
- Voight Brothers, Sitzendorf, Germany
- Frankenthal, Dresden
- Scheibe Alsbach
- Staffordshire also made soldier figurines (often with no mark)
Your pottery mark does not correspond with any of the above.
The makers pottery mark your mark most corresponds to is Weesp of Holland, but I don't know whether they made soldier figurines or not.
You can see the mark here:
www.oldandsold.com - Holland / Netherlands.
