Antique & Fine China Query - Unusual Porcelain Chick in a Shell With Signature Marking:- Recently, while clearing out my Grandmother's farmhouse outside of Exeter, Ontario, my Mother found a small chicken in a shell. It has an open back and markings on the inside. There is a hole on each side (visible in the photographs). She has forwarded me photos and would love to know more about the origins of the item.

Any assistance or advice you can offer would be most appreciated.

Could you please write the letters of the marking.. Ive tried to enlarge it and it just gets blurry.. ty

The marking appears to be 2 stacked rows of 4 characters with a line between the rows. It is somewhat difficult to say for certain what the letters of the marking on the inside of the chick actually are due to the style of the script but my best guess (and I do emphasize guess)...

Some of the characters appear to be upper case, some lower case, some script and some may even be Greek letters.

I have forwarded a close up of the marking to Peter in hopes that it can be added here. I should have thought of that in the first place. Thanks for the suggestion!!

I have uploaded the extra pic of the mark sent in by Kerry. I enhanced it and turned it upside down because the markings looked like numbers to my eye. What do you think?
