Art Nouveau Fire Tiles Backstamp of Urn With Man & Woman Under Tree
Art Nouveau Fire Tiles Backstamp of Urn With Man & Woman Under Tree. This mark is on the back of Art Nouveau fire tiles. The backstamp is of a two handled urn/vase and, as if printed on the vase, there is a man & a woman sitting under a tree. They came out of 3 Original Art Nouveau cast iron combination fireplaces which we are restoring. On the reverse of each of these fire tiles there is a makers stamp that is in a raised relief in the clay of the tiles.
The maker's stamp is of an urn/vase with two looped handles at the top. Also, as if printed on the urn/vase itself, there is the detail of what appears to be a man and a woman sitting down under a tree and facing each other.
The relief stamp is about 1.5cm(h) x 1cm(w and sits within a circle (2cm diameter)in the centre of the back of the tile.
Can anyone tell me whose maker's stamp this might be?
Hope someone can help me with this query.
Thank you
Emily M

Hi Emily
Thanks for sharing your art nouveau find.
It would have been great to see the actual tile. Here is the
submission form for this public pottery marks forum if you would care to upload it.
I looked for your mark in my various pottery mark encyclopedias, but found nothing like it.
Let's hope someone else comes across this listing who knows a bit more than me.
For anyone reading this who doesn't want to wait around, they can go to my special page here which will help them with their research:-
