dear peter' i have another stump for you. i purchesed a rather loveley lady the other day ,i hasen to say she was an ornament.but my stump is ,that i dont know wether she is art-deco or nouvo. she is 2ft/2inch's high ,she stand's very elegantley with a rather large dog at her side but is painted quite crudely, she is dressed in a black flowing gown wich is strapless, and has a green type of ribbon round her hair, wich goes down her back and dress. 'looking at her' i cant make up my mind wether she is deco or nouvo. ther are no mark's on the peice, but i do know she came from the plaza cinema in wishaw, and she is made of plaster. can you tell me if there is any kind of value in these cinema relic's.

kind regards.

Hi Peter

Sounds like quite a find. I would suggest definitely Art Deco - (this being the right era).

Go to http://www.deco-world.com to see the value of this type of wares. I would say it was valuable to a collector. You can phone them too.

On my China Replacement page, I show you how to search the internet properly.

I couldn't find much on cinema figures.

p.s. The following page is a 'must see' if you are researching fine china - for value and identification:-

memory's

dear peter i just came across your article on the item about your lady ,and i have to say by the sound of your discription, she is most def art deco. i used to go to the plaza cinema in the mid thirty's and i remember she was one of a pair wich used to adorn the bottom pillar's of the grand stairway to the balcony of the plaza picture house in wishaw. i have to add that i used to rub her head for luck, before i went up-stair's. it brought the memory's flooding back. oh what joy those day's where. thank you peter for reminding me. cindy black.
