Blue Crown above M flanked by 2 'lollipop' images and 5817 :- I recently bought these cherubs carrying a pierced floral dish from an outdoor antique market in Newcasle-u-Lyme, Staffordshire, England. The 4 cherubs are 17cm high (10 pence piece by his foot shows the scale) and the dish has applied flowers on the outside and handpainted flowers on the inside. Would love to know the maker and date,

Thanks in anticipation!

Sally

PMP Pottery Mark Beneath Crown is Plaue/Von Schierhol
by: Peter (admin)

The pottery mark is that of Von Schierholz of Plaue, Thuringia, Germany and dates to after 1973.

There has already been a separate query on this PMP pottery mark mark already posted in the forums here:-

crown above m pottery mark

I saw the photo and knew that the mark was one we have solved, but initially could not remember the factory off the top of my head, so I the found the listing by using the in-house search box (situated at the top right of every page) and putt in the search phrase "PMP mark". The first result is the page above (if you ignore the Google ads at the very top).

Now the answer is on both threads.

It is a must for visitors to get used to using the in-house search box as this holds most of the answers.
