BOY FIGURINE WITH POTTERY MARK DATED 1883
Hi Lisa
Although the coronet with an N mark is associated with the Capodimonte style from Italy, many Thuringian (a traditional ceramics manufacturing region of Germany) factories used the N with crown as their mark for export wares.

Also through visitor submissions we have discovered there is a German company who make children figurines which bear a marked resemblance to your item. Apel & Leube began life in 1883 and were based in Lippelsdorf, Thuringia.
Maybe there is a connection as the 1883 date ties in and so does the Thuringian export mark of N and crown/coronet.
