Fontaine Pattern China
by: Blake

Dear Val, I'm afraid I can't help you without a picture of the mark on your plate. Fontaine is apparently the name of the pattern or decoration. I can find no mark for a china company that used just the initials C L in their mark. Worse, Fontaine is a popular name for a china pattern: Lenox, Mikasa, Noritake and many others all made a Fontaine. Some even made their Fontaine pattern is several versions and different colors.
If you can, post again with a good clear picture of the mark.

Yours, Blake

Thanks
I have submitted another photo with front and back, also a drawning for the mark.
