Dansk Tableware - France or Denmark? Query
Dansk Tableware Query: - I have recently come across a set of Dansk Tableware Quistgaard bulb mini candlesticks which are marked "Dansk designed France IHQ"
I believe they are silver plate - usually I thought Dansk items were marked "Denmark" - not France. Does anyone know anything about the ones marked "France"???
Thanks
Janet

Thanks for your question, Janet. I will put in my pennies worth, but I think we need a Dansk collector to fill in the gaps as I am not really a Dansk expert.
As discussed in the main article, Dansk, despite the name, is an American company. However, I believe they used suppliers from Denmark as well as France. When I tried to research this topic, I found conflicting information on the net. One source said "marks changed in 1966 to France from Denmark" (http://www.rubylane.com/shops/chezmarianne/item/RLx2034551) another said "in 1966, Dansk switched to a French supplier" (http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/vintage-gear-dansk-kobenstyle-007385).
One thing I do know for sure is the "IHQ" mark stands for Jens Quistgaard's initials.
I have checked on the official Dansk.com website but there is very little information on that particular site. If any Dansk enthusiast could fill us in further, we would be very grateful.
Please just click on the comments link and leave your own contribuution. Many thanks.
