display case for bisque fired sculpture

by Margaret
(Windsor, Ontario)

I have completed a bust and want to display it in a case. It is red clay and bisque fired. I would like to know if it needs air inside of a glass or plexiglass box. How do I secure it down? Any advice is appreciated.

The bust was made with clay and bisque fired once. It will be on display on a pedestal. So that it will not be touched, it will have a cover of either glass or plexiglass. If the cover is sealed, will it condense or should there be an air space somewhere? Probably, as long as there is no change in temperature, it should be OK sealed. I'm not sure, as I have never encased clay before. As for securing it down, what is the point? If it is knocked over, it would be damaged anyway.
