doulton / beswick figure firing

Hi, was wondering what the maximum temp a royal doulton/beswick figure could be fired at before the clay starts to melt?
Thanks.

Hi

Why would you want to know this? This is an odd query.

Not a technical expert myself, but clay doesn't 'melt' as the temperature rises - it just tends to vitrify and harden off, depending on the type of clay - earthernware, stoneware, porcelain etc etc.

Different clays require different temperatures or 'cones' for different end results, bisque, glost, vitrification etc etc. Different countries tend to have different kiln temperature marker references also, so it depends where you are.

Most kilns can't go above a certain temp - so there's a limit.

If you tell me all the details of exactly what you are trying to do, I'll get an expert to reply to your query - but right now, your words are rather vague if you don't mind me saying.

Regards
