Elgin Whieldon Ware Dinner Set 1925-1931 mark - Cannot find a mention anywhere!:- My grandfather was given this set (he was a sanitary ware manufacture in the name of Tatton) and passed it onto my aunt after which it came to me. We are moving house soon and wish to sell the set so it would be useful to know a value or any information!
It comprises of;
1 large, 1 medium and 1 small serving plate
9 dinner plates
7 side plates
6 large bowls
12 small bowls
2 serving dishes and lids
1 soup tureen with lid and plate
1 gravy boat
On the bottom there is the Whieldon Ware mark and also the number '9628' with the word 'Elgin'
I have tried to research it but cannot see this number, pattern or name anywhere!
Thanks for any help!
Caroline

Hi Caroline
Nice looking set of Whieldon Ware.
Should be worth quite a bit. If you have not done so already, you need to study my page here:-
www.figurines-sculpture.com/china-patterns.html
and then let me know if you got anywhere with the tips.
Think about posting your set here on this site for sale:-

Best regards
