Fine Antique Porcelain Saucer without a mark, just a number 1783:- I have a very pretty saucer with a hand decorated floral swag design and gilt edging. The saucer has no china mark on its base but has a hand painted number in red - 1783.
The china is discoloured (blotchy) but the pattern is complete and vibrant.
The shape of the pattern can be seen through the saucer when held up to the light.
How can I find out when it was produced and by which china company?

The forum Help Elf says:-
1783 - if this is a date, has no significance that I know of apart from it was beginning of the the "Flight period" of Royal Worcester porcelain between 1783-92 (this was the second period which followed the first Dr Wall period). After this second period came the "Barr and Flight & Barr period" – 1792-1807.
It looks like it might have this age to it and a fine make quality, and just might need to be in a museum, but I hasten to add I am not an expert, just a helpful little elf who realises that humans like to find hidden treasure! A long shot perhaps, but just maybe worth investigating.
