Mark photo - Fine China Mystery Tea Set Maker - HO and Co Limited
Mark photo - Fine China Mystery Tea Set Maker - HO and Co Limited:- Hello, a tea set has come into my possession recently, which I can not find any information on.
As you can see, the stamped mark refers to what appears to be H-O Co. Limited, but I can find no mention of this manufacturer at all.
Hope you can help.
Thanks,
Gaz.

Hi Gaz
Thanks for the photos and for becoming an 'official' friend to the site. Welcome and hope you enjoy all the free resources.
Well! You really picked one here. I have the most thorough encyclopedias know to mankind at my disposal (Kovels, Goddens, Millers etc).. I am skilled at Google advanced searches:-
"H-O" OR "H O" OR "HO" england bone china cup & saucer -anchor -tally -chang -gauge
"HO LIMITED" OR "HO ltd" +bone +saucer -heigh -zo -ming -chi
"ho" +bone +saucer -anchor -tally -chang -gauge
I know how to search ebay exhaustively.....
I was beginning to think you had made this up as a giraffe.
However, I tried one more last search - the most exhaustive and thorough website online - Replacements.com - ....
Low and behold they had HO Limited listed. Yes they had ONE SAUCER (not even a cup and saucer - just one solitary saucer).
see:- http://www.replacements.com/webquote/HOEHOE1.htm
I think you have managed to find the most obscure maker of all time.
I would normally recommend you contact online antiquarians Whats-it-Worth, but I shouldn't imagine they would know either - you could always ask.
If anyone does know anything about Ho Limited, please post here.
Enjoy all the free resources and online guides, but as a general tip (not for your HO Limited wares), if you want an insurance valuation or are thinking of maybe selling your stuff at sometime in the future and want to get the best possible price, I recommend you get a certified appraisal – it particularly helps on ebay where people are not able to inspect the items, and therefore have to take your word for it.
Q. “HOW do I get one of those?!!”
A. By far the quickest, easiest & cheapest way is to contact Whats-it-Worth. I am happy to put my name to them as an affiliate.

You can also purchase short online courses. They are the top online experts and very friendly.
If not selling but want an idea of price, go to my Valuation Help Page.
HERE'S A TOP TIP IF SELLING ON EBAY:-
A mistake many people make when trying to sell wares on Ebay is not to upload a photograph of the pottery mark.
Serious buyers will ALWAYS want to see the mark before buying. To save yourself hassle, the best way to ‘photograph’ the mark so as to give collectors the best view is to place the item on a scanner and ‘scan’ the pottery mark. This almost always gives a better result than a photograph (you see lots of blurred photos on ebay from sellers who could do with this tip!)
That tip is courtesy of friend of the site, Terry Gibbs who runs a private ebay forum which gives a lot of useful tips for eBay sellers. There is a small charge to join - to pay for the admin & upkeep (quite right too!). I am proud to be an affiliate of Terry's (he IS Jeff Albertson the 'Comic Book Guy' from the Simpsons! LOL! - don't tell him I said that).

Best regards
