Answer to Your Question on Square Oriental Pottery Mark With Lines

Answer to Your Question on Square Oriental Pottery Mark With Lines:-

Hi Debbie,

I am not certain whether you have managed to get an answer to your question yet.
The mark looks to be from the Aoki family pottery, they work out of the Arita Kiln in NW Kuyushu, very close to Imari.

They are a very accomplished pottery and by the general form and style I would suggest a date of around 1950.

I hope this helps.
Lovely piece though..:)

SQUARE POTTERY MARK WITH LINES - "AOAKI"?
by: debbie

thank you for your comments... I thought the same when looking for the mark online, that it was AOAKI. I know that it is older than 1950 because my mother brought it with her from Germany after ww2 and that she lived in Latvia before that, and it was at her house in Riga Latvia when she was a girl.
