identifying crown ducal pattern - Violets

identifying crown ducal pattern - Violets:- This tea set belonged to my late Mum who died in 2005. She was 82. Most of the cups have been broken (2 left) but I still have 3 large plates, 4 side plates, milk jug, water jug, and teapot. I have been trying to identify the pattern ie what is the name of it.

I went to the site recommended here and to Crown Ducal but nowhere in their many patterns could I find Violets. (I saw it described as 'Violets' on an auction site but not a china auction site - similar to ebay).

I also saw a similar pattern described as 'Chintz'. Can anybody tell me the correct name for this pattern?

I look forward to some assistance and thank you :)

Pam

Pattern is "Blue Pansy Chintz"
by: Ian

The name for this pattern is described in the Crown Ducal pattern books as “Blue Pansy Chintz”, it is pattern number 5540 and was designed in 1938. The backstamp picture with the coloured (red/yellow) transfer logo and the MADE IN ENGLAND stamp are typical markings of around 1938/39. The other backstamp is more interesting, the stamped logo with the letter B above is indicative that it was made when WW2 restrictions were in place, limiting what the UK population could buy, and fancy decorated items were all for export. Restrictions were imposed in June 1942 and were in place until the summer of 1952. So the item with the “B” stamp was made during that period.

Thanks Ian & Pam. I have been looking for information on this pattern as I have 3 pieces. Would like to add to this if anyone has a jug or cup & saucer etc.
