Is this a Meissen?

Is this a Meissen?

Is this a Meissen?

Is this a Meissen? Is this a Meissen mark? Is this a Meissen mark?

Is this a Meissen? I recently purchased this Monkey Teapot that looks like a Meissen at a Yard Sale. There are no Crossed Swords or Initials on it, But there is a Kite mark. Sure would be nice to find out that it is a Meissen. The Kite mark is under glaze and is not ledge able.

Help !!!

HOW I MADE MONEY FROM BITS & BOBS OF OLD CHINA

Hi

Many thanks for submitting, and hope you are finding the site useful.

Right now I am trying to finish a major sculpt to a deadline (see my Facebook page ….more), and have had loads of forum queries all at once, so I am finding it hard to research queries right at this moment. I will publish anyway and with a bit of luck, one of our knowledgeable contributors will help out on this one – (check out the comments section below for replies).

If not, I’ll try to get back to this one later. If you can’t wait and need to know soonest, use the expert referral service here:

My vintage and antique china values page

…which takes 2 days max and is really good value for $13.67 when you consider all other antiquarian online referral services are either much more expensive (most certified appraiser's charge $75.00 - $200.00 per hour, www.MyGrannysAtticAntiques.com charges $50 USD minimum charge , Worthpoint.com charges $10 UDS monthly membership fee, PLUS $20 USD each report, etc etc.)

For general advice on how to either price up your collection or find replacements for it, I wrote this page: The Searching Secrets To Finding Your China Replacement Online ….more.

For specific advice on how to ‘save a search’ on eBay (for pricing or finding your desired item) go here: How to easily find replacements, prices and information on vintage and antique china online ..... more

Meissen Monkey Business
by: Blake

Dear Steve,

It certainly looks like a Meissen Monkey Teapot. Compare it to the two Monkey Teapots pictured here:

http://arthostage.blogspot.com/meissen-monkey-teapot.html

I'm more familiar with the painted or written Meissen marks and don't no much about marks such as your teapot has. I will see what I can find in my books.

Yours, Blake

Hey Blake , Thanks for taking the time to post a reply. I have seen another 'Meissen' Monkey Teapot like mine on Ebay for $23.00. I asked the seller if it had any marks, and they replied it did not.I may go ahead and purchase it just to have a pair. Please let me know what you can find out.

Thanks Again,

Steve

Identical Meissen reproduction
by: Anonymous

Hi,
I have an identical teapot with the identical mark. I think it might be a Samson or a Helena Wolfsohn reproduction.
Has anyone come to a verdict on who made them?
My phone # 951-218-2890
Thanks, David

Meissen monkey

Hi Everyone, lets sort this meissen monkey mess out!
Right lets make thing perfectly clear here, the teapot in question is no way meissen!!
There's just no quality in the piece, in any case meissen was porcelain, this example most definately isnt porcelain.
Kaendler designed the Meissen monkey in the 1730's,many can be found using google, just type in Meissen monkey teapot/images,hey presto!!
I have one of these 'copies' myself as i collect teapots and have done for over 20 years now.
Its as close as i'm gonna get to owning one of these master pieces, and marks underneath are irrelevant, its just not Meissen!Probably made in japan around 2000-2002?
