My Lefton Clown Mug or Planter - Pottery Mark Says Geo. Z. Lefton
Lefton Clown Mug or Planter - Pottery Mark Says Geo. Z. Lefton :- My grandmother recently passed away and I being a lover of collectibles was handed down some of her wonderful items. Before I let a piece join in the group I always like to find out a little about its background, can't have any infiltrators. The only one that is still giving me trouble and it has become an obsession with me, is finding out if in fact it is a Lefton and what is his story. I am indebted to the person that can help me with "MY CLOWN" The following are all the markings on the bottom of the mug:
copy write 1984 Geo.Z.Lefton (engraved in the ceramic)
04334 (is stamped in ink)
Has two Seals
1. The Red Lefton Seal
2. Another that says the following:
Top: Lefton China
Middle: (their mark a Crown)
Bottom: Hand Painted

Hi Sharon
Thanks for sharing 'your clown' with us. Very nice too, Lefton very collectible nowadays. It would have been great to see the actual mark too. Here is a
quick link to the ‘submit form’ for this public pottery marks forum, so you can share that too for us all to see. I will transfer it manually to here.
All I know about Lefton marks personally is written in this
Lefton reply.
Let's hope someone else comes across this listing who knows a bit more than me, but well done with starting this thread. The idea is, over time, this page will get populated with information from other collectors who don't mind sharing their knowledge.
For anyone reading this who doesn't want to wait around, they can go to my special page here which will help them research their particular field:-
Researching the identity and value of antique and vintage fine china.
As for values, people need to take into account the changing market in the current economy. Items fetching premium prices a couple of years ago are no longer, and other things becoming 'fashionable'. This is the realm of the experts and I have a
special page where you get tips on researching china values and liaise with experts.
Best regards,
