More info on Johann Maresch mark

Hello Peter !

Now I have found out that the artist behind the two small circles inside a big circle was Mûsterschutz, as can be seen i the foto I attach.

Maybe Musterschutz is the designer and the circle with two small circles inside is the sign of the artist who in some way produced the plate?

Musterschutz is not and artist name. It is the German word for "Trademark"
Mustershutz = Registered Design

"Mustershutz" simply means registered design, with the specific design being numbered at the Johann Maresch factory. This is slightly different from the "JM" maker's (or trade) mark, also present on each Johann Maresch piece.

Each factory, including the Johann Maresch factory, would keep design books and catalogues for internal production and for external marketing use respectively.

Many of these "Musterbuch" (design book or design catalogue) publications have survived and can provide diagrams, photographs, and various descriptive information about individual designs.
