More On Crown Lynn of Auckland New Zealand:- Donna Bird reports ... Jeena, my dads sister supplied the information to the Potteries.org site. Anyway, both my father and Jeena worked at Crown Lynn as well during their school holidays as well as after school. They would decorate these half size toby's - the ugliest things I ever seen.
This is the link to the Stoke-on-Trent site with some pictures:

Later Tom and my Dad would go sailing I heard a story at Sir Tom's funeral (editor's note: Thomas Clark,a great-grandson of founder Rice Owen Clark - see Wiki article [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Lynn) that he had fired my dad, Cliff, seven times in one day. Once was for making a huge clay penis that he stuck thought the wall into the decorators room the whole wall collapsed and there was deathly silence followed by raw cuss laughter after the dust settled and the offending objects was seen .
If you manage to get the Crown Lynn book there is much more info it including over hundred different back stamps and pottery marks - all Crown Lynn 'mischief'.
I love sculpting things too. I had to teach myself and sometimes I wish they were still here I could learn so much from them!
Anyway chow and thanks again
