Pottery Clay Query - Air Dry Bone China

by Kathy

Pottery Clay Query - My husband bought me 25 pounds of bone china clay on e-bay. The seller said it was air dry bone china clay. Then paintable. How do I dry it with out it cracking? And has anyone used this or know anything about it? The only thing we found on the internet was that it takes 24 hours to dry. Nothing was in the shipment except a bag of clay. No instruction. My library has no books on air dry bone china clay.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thanks for your query on the Pottery Clay pages.
We have a big section (8 or 9 pages) on air dry clays.... Lots of information and several expert articles. You probably just missed it because it's within the 'How to Sculpt' section. To get there you can either go directly to www.figurines-sculpture.com/cold-porcelain or click on the main nav bar 'How to Sculpt' then scroll half way down to the section just below the links rundown - look for the 'cold porcelain' link.

If you don't find exactly what you are looking for there, just post another query and wait for the experts to get their teeth into it for you.

Happy sculpting!
