Pottery mark Query- Crossed Arrows, Points Down
Pottery mark Query- Crossed Arrows, Points Down. The arrow pottery mark in question has a mark of four feather tails, a letter on the left being the letter 'S' and to the right of that four numners 8534. This item was handed down to me from my Grandmother.
I would be very grateful for any information anyone could give.

Hi Jim
Thanks for sharing your arrow pottery mark.
It would have been great to see the actual item also. Here is the
submission form for this public pottery marks forum. Please upload it there.
Your mark is exactly what Norine was asking about in the comments section on this page here (scroll to bottom of page):-
Arnart Hummel Look-alike Collectors Comments.
Your mark is one of many Germanic looking marks issued by Arnart, made in Japan figurine wares, mass imported into the USA and Europe. Arnart wares are very indicative of a time in the 1950's when Japan was finding it's feet as a manufacturer nation after the war. Japan were known at that time for cheap copies and lower priced goods. It was only after this period did they blossom as nation into the well respected industrial and technical giants we know today.
I have no idea what your piece looks like as there is no photo provided, so can't really comment any further.
As for values, people need to take into account the changing market in the current economy. Items fetching premium prices a couple of years ago are no longer, and other things becoming 'fashionable'. This is the realm of the experts and I have a
special page where you get tips on researching china values and liaise with experts.
