pottery mark query - crown over 'N'
I inherited a tea set off my Grandma. I remember her telling me she saved up her pocket money to buy it. I think that must mean she bought it in the 1920's. The mark on the bottom has crown, then under that is an N and under that is the word Valentina or Valeutina.

pottery mark query - crown over 'N'
Hi Clair
According to my sources, this mark belongs to that of a very nice German porcelain maker called Sandizell. There is information elsewhere on this site about them, so just use one of the many search boxes on this site to locate the information.
However, you may have to recalculate your timings of your Grandma's childhood/youth because this company did not come into existence until 1951, so that would make the 1920's way out.
This particular mark is from the 1960's according to my reliable source. They used various crown over 'N' marks, this one often has the words 'DRESDEN-ART' under the stamp , meaning 'Dresden style', rather than Valentino. The word 'Valentino' refers to the pattern or range style.
There are probably other people out there who also have the Sandizell 'N' under crown Valentino mark too. It would be interesting to hear from them to see if they can confirm date of purchase (so as to verify the dating of the 1960's rather than the 1920's)
Apparently, Sandizell only just recently stopped producing in the past few years, but I am not sure about dates of closure.
