Pottery Mark Query - 'T' in wreath ( & also an 'H' ) on a tea set from Japan
Pottery Mark Query - 'T' in wreath ( & also an 'H' ) on a tea set from Japan:- I inherited this beautiful Japanese tea set from my grandmother and since I have received it, I just can't stop feeling as though I need to know more about it...where it came from, or where it was purchased. I can't remember ever seeing this set on display in her china cabinet...I can only assume that it was for special occasions. I've asked my dad about it, but he doesn't have any information about it either. What I find particularly intriguing, is that while it appears to be a matching set, the marks on the sugar jar and the tea pot/cups differ. On the sugar jar is the words Hand Painted atop a flower with an 'H' inside with Japan written beneath. Any information about this pattern would be most appreciated. It really is a beautiful set which includes the tea pot cup and plates with sugar and cream jar and also mini cups. Thanks for any information you may have.
