Pottery Mark Query - Wheat Sheaf inside circle surrounded by leaves - pink ribbon under:- This dish was passed down to me by my mother. It came from an aunt's antique shop. I found the mark once - there used to be a word or words which have rubbed off (you can sort of see part of a letter above the mark), but I lost the paper I had written the information on, and now I can't find it!

The dish is porcelain (I think) with shiny paint inside and lots of gold trim, inside and out. I hope someone can help -this is driving me crazy!! Thank you so much in advance.

Sandra

Hi Sandra

Many thanks for submitting, and hope you are finding the site useful. Ouch! I hate it when I lose important bits of paper.

Interesting dish. I don't know this wheatsheaf mark and can't locate it in any of my marks books or online.

I feel sure someone will find this page and eventually come to your aid sooner or later.

There is something about this mark - the pastel colours and the way it is neatly designed that reminds me of the sdtyle of marking they sometimes used in post war Japan - around the 1950's and 60's. I wouldn't be surprised if this was 20th century Japanese.

Knowledgeable contributors please try to help with this one if you possibly can, thanks.
