Hi Rick

Please go to my 'Worcester marks' page to find out how to date Royal Worcester marks.

It would have been great to see the actual figure too.

Just let me say, as a note to other submitters - that in order to get the best replies on this public forum, submitters are best advised to merge two or more clear photos into one image and then upload. Please supply a close up of the mark (best use your camera on ‘macro’) and one of the wares is best.

Anyone needing valuations only, please go to this vintage and antique china values page. You can also take the opportunity to liaise with experts on that page.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

This page describes the complex Royal Worcester marking system:

http://www.antique-marks.com/royal-worcester-marks.html

The "dots" dating system was used from 1892-1915. In 1904, the dots began to appear underneath the circle of the mark as well as on the sides.

From the photo here, it looks like 6 dots on the left, 4 on the right; however, there is no year given that used that pattern of dots. Seems to be pre-1904, but perhaps the owner can see the dots better for a more exact date.

594 is a pattern number for a pair of water carrier figurines.

http://www.prices4antiques.com shows the pair with a circa date of 1894.

http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/5947853 also shows a pair of 594 figurines with an estimate of $2000-2500. You have to register on the sites to see what they sold for!
