pottery mark s below a crown

hi there, I have a german style figurine on a boy dressed as a firefighter, with the s below the crown stamp.
it was found in a box of bits and bobs when sorting through my aunts loft.
can anyone tell me if it a by P.Donath or by whom.

I think probably not a German maker due to the lack of originality of design (ripping off standards like Hummel and Bunnykins, and tatty regency style figurines). Could be 20th Century East German (GDR) when under the influence of the Soviet regime in search of export dollars and it's legendary lack of production standards.
So, in my mind, probably Far East mass-production with a nod to German style pottery marks.
