Hello,

This vase is to our family for ten years now. We got it as present from some other family. Ten year now looks in a great condition like is made yesterday.

The vase is approximately high 34cm and max width is 15cm.
The mark is red color and to me looks like a boat with R or B above it. Something complicated difficult to descripe. The vase has flowers pictures on it.

I started to wonder how old could be the vase and from which year is made.

Something weird with this vase is that doesnt get dusty nearly at all. Might be for more than a year in a closet with no touch while evrything around is full of dust this is like no dust touches it. :S

I would be glad if you could help me identify it. I have tried see many website and other pottery marks but never happened to see something similar before like this one.

I would appreciate any help or extra information that could help identify this vase.

Thank you and kind regards,

Tasos

HOW I MADE MONEY FROM BITS & BOBS OF OLD CHINA

Hi Tasos

Personally, I am not so familiar with Chinese wares - which this looks like to me. I know that older vases can be valuable, but newer ones are not so expensive.

It would be great if you could go to Gotheborg.com which is a specialist site and have a look around there to see if you can see your mark on display there. Please report back whether of not you find it.

The other options are to continue with your own research to the value of your vase/urn, or liaise with and expert via my vintage and antique china values page, or alternatively, await a knowledgeable visitor to this page who helps us by making a comment below.
