Ridgway Adderley Coffee Set - Retro Look
Ridgway Adderley Coffee Set - Antique Bone China Query: I have a Ridgway Adderley Coffee set and I am trying to find the name of the pattern / design. I wondered if you could help. As you can see, the design is modern / retro looking rather than traditional. Regards, Mal

Hi Mal
Thanks for your query. If you read the entry on Ridgway Potteries and also the two different entries on Adderley (WAA) and also the Royal Adderley entry in my online A to Z guide to Antique bone china, you will know the histories of these two companies and how they came to join together.
Obviously, this set is from a later era of Adderley / Ridgway and my guess would be the 1970's. If it wasn't the 1970's then it was either earlier and therefore very fashion forward, or later, in which case old fashioned.
I have checked a large back catalog of over 400 popular Adderley patterns and I can't find this one. It is similar to Ridway's 'Valencia' pattern and is probably from the same era of production.
I couldn't do my normal ebay coded search as the ebay deep level search facility is down for maintenance right now. Your best bet of finding the name of the pattern by far is to use the clever, but tricky to use ebay deep level search, then ask ebay to email you when goods come online.
For full instructions on how this system works go to this page:

Good luck with your search.
