SPHINX

by Ignatius
(Argentina)

Hello,

I'm trying to identify a small ceramic oval dish, which has three incised marks: the biggest one is an sphinx, other that looks like a equal sign with an apostrophe over it, and the last one, a J (capital J). The sphinx mark is very similar to the "Royal Sphinx" mark from Petrus Regout (Maastricht - Holland).

I've been thinking if this is a maastricht piece, the absence o of the origin, may denote a piece previous to 1890 ('cos by this time... mostly every piece had the origin marked) and, after 1870 'cos since that year petrous regout began to use muti-color decals.
