strange blue mark

The mark on your jug or bottle is actually a decoration known as a "Bee Sting" or "Target". RedWing used this decoration quite often but was by no means the only maker to use it.
I'll see if I can track down the maker or most likely maker's of you jug or bottle when I get home this evening and have access to my books.

Beehive Jug Information Needed
by: Blake

I've come up with the following additional information. Your piece is known as a "Beehive" Jug and the brown spots are called "Turkey Droppings" by collectors.
To get you more information on your jug I need to know the following: How tall is it? How many gallons does it hold? The only way to figure that out will be to fill it with water. Use a plastic gallon jug if you have one or use a measuring cup and count how many cups the jug holds. Also, from the picture it appears as if there is no handle from the body to the opening. Please let me know it there is a handle or if there are marks where a handle has broken off or confirm it doesn't have a handle. Does the bottom of the jug have any marks at all?

Yours, Blake
