Unidentifiable Asian pottery mark

Unidentifiable Asian pottery mark:- I bought this pretty bowl from a local op shop yesterday (Feb 7th, 2010) for 50c as I was intrigued by it's pattern. It is clearly not worth anything but I am curious as to the mark - there's no "made in Japan" or anything like that anywhere, just this stylised curving little insignia. The bowl to me appears Asian. Any ideas?
