Dear Mike
First thing to say is that I am not a professional appraiser - just a china enthusiast who happens to work as an artisan in the industry and also happens to have a website.
However, I always pass on any knowledge I have and recommend the best professional online services I know of if my knowledge is incomplete.
Here's what I know about this one, presuming it is English. Only certain makers, due to past Royal patronage have the right to use the term 'Royal' in their name. These would include the likes of Royal Worcester and Royal Doulton. Many other firms, normally lesser makers, just randomly use the term 'Royal' just to try to feign credibility without having earned the right. Yours is one of the latter in my view.
Two companies known to have used just the word "Royal" (from a Royal connection unknown to me) were Royal Albion founded 1921 in Albion Street, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, (having taken over the running of Redfern & Drakeford Ltd founded 1892) they only survived until 1948. The other firm was Royal Aller Vale & Watcombe Pottery of Torquay, Devon who ceased production in 1962.
To verify which, if either of these companies made your wares, you would have to check with Whats-it-worth. They are best for one off questions. Their service is well used and appreciated by visitors with zero negative feedback.

I can send you some sample appraisals to give you an idea of what they do – just contact me here.
