Just a quick message to say merry Christmas to you and apologise for being a quiet on the newsletter front lately.
It was because I was trying to perfect the new Celtic figurine. It took me ages to even come up with the design and when I started to sculpt it I redid it several times.
The reason was I was a bit nervous doing one on my own without the Royal Worcester backstamp this time, so I felt it had to be really the best one yet. As you may know Worcester, the oldest surviving UK porcelain company (c. 260 years in constant production from the same plant) is now gone. Some marketers bought the name and are now making in the Far East, so I have been told, as I won't have anything to do with this nonsense. I squirm to even think about it, because, as you know, Worcester was by far my favourite UK firm. How sad to see it go.
Anyway, the finished sculpt is now sitting in my Worcestershire studio, waiting for the blocker to do his stuff. I have posted some photos of her in the final clay model and have done an artist impressions of the colours. Please email me to tell me what you think.
This will be a very low edition - 795 worldwide (tiny in comparison to the normal 7500 of the Worcester Celtics). These figures sold out that big number, so be quick to put your name down if you want an investment (check out ebay - my Worcester Celtics fetch very good money).
