(Rant for the day:-)
“... and NO, I am not referring to all those financiers, the little banker gnomes who oversaw the world's finances collapsing while they fished for money.” ...... I was referring to.....
Lisa B, who sent me pics of her garden gnome and I sent them on to the auction expert guy who sent me this link to this similar gnome that sold at Christies, London for $1,437.00 USD (see sale no. 5181, Furniture and Decorative Objects, 24 April 2007, London, South Kensington).
Check out those gnomes, folks. My 'Antiques Roadshow' page is here:-

Remember, there are over 1000 pages of free information on everything from pottery marks to porcelain sculptures on my site.
Quick News:
So what about sculpting? I hear you ask. Well , here's a thing - for those of you who are 'Facebook challenged' (like me) we are now fully fledged Facebook people and if you are not, do it now!
Why?
I just can't explain how good Facebook is for our UK Figurine Collective (www.figurinecollect.com) and YOU. We now have a site on Facebook which is not the same at all as our website and I didn't understand it and was against having a Facebook account.
However, our website has to be formal and 'presented' properly and making statement blah and so on. However, the Facebook thing is a complete and utter mad mess (in a nice way).
... but that's not the best thing. I am working on my new piece 'English Garden' it is roughed out and growing by the day - and I can just post pics on Facebook as I do stuff and share it with collectors and sculpting scholars alike.
Irene (yes you!) has already said she wants one (as low a number as possible) and it is hardly out of the 'lump of clay stage' yet. I am truly flattered, thanks ;-)
I am going to stop before I begin to sound like an advert for Facebook.
Just go there:-

Anyway, I am sure I was going to say some other things in this Newsletter, but I can't remember what they were now, so I'll get my coat.
Bye for now, I've got sculpting to do....
