We have had a few collectors asking about progress of the first three figs:- 'As Lovely As You', 'Rose Garden' and 'Champagne Ball'.
Here's the latest update...
John Bromley, my sculpting colleague has finished his final colour-story of 'As Lovely As You', which is going to be released imminently.
Sneak preview below - (if your email program allows photos - if not updated photos to be put on website soon)
Note the beautiful 'lustre' and colour blending John has put on the sleeves (also the large bows).
After that, this fig will be the first of our figs to be on general release to the 'public' and we will have stocks available to purchase etc etc.
Tony Young (designer, ceramics expert and product developer) & I had an really good vision of what colour story 'Rose Garden' should be and after a series of about 4 or 5 trials, we are very close to exactly what we want, and frankly, we love her and think she's eye-popping.
We have made a big 'design decision' that irrespective of extra costs, the shawl should be hand-painted rather than done in photo-litho (which would always have been done in the past - pre The Figurine Collective!). Annette and Yvonne have done inspired work on this, working from an original watercolour from Tony Young. The price will remain the same to collectors (no increase due to the difficulty of hand-painting).
Here's a sneak preview..... (The shawl is a hand-paint by Yvonne)
Champagne Ball decorating is just in the early 'discussion' period with John, Tony, Annette & Yvonne all throwing out ideas and thoughts. John always takes the lead on colour for his sculpts, so let's watch with interest. We will go onto colour trials shortly.
Speak soon.
Best regards
Peter H. for the the team
