Mark on bottom of bowl

Hello, When my mother passed away, I found an old bowl in her apartment, way back in a cabinet under the sink. It may have been in the building before she moved in (in 1965). I grew up there and never saw that bowl before. The apartment building was erected in the 1880s, and was occupied by one family before they rented out the upstairs to tenants (a pharmacy was on the main level).

I know that antiques were found in the basement. So, this could be a pretty old bowl.

It is big, 12" in diameter and 6" high, and a creamy off-white color. The mark on bottom reads "Iron Stone China - Extra Quality" and depicts to lions and a crest. The crest has initials - either SC Co., or CS Co., perhaps. I have seen similar ones on eBay with Goodwin's or other words below the crest but this is different.

Can you help me identify who made it, how old it is, and whether any collectors would be interested? I'd like to sell it.

Thank you!

Diane

Pretty sure it's George Scott Pottery
by: kent

George Scott operated a pottery in Cincinnati OH in the 19th century. I'm doing more research but the lions with the monogram is the same. Sometimes marked Iron Stone China above and Extra Quality or George Scott below
